NorthRidge Church in Plymouth, Michigan is currently home to over 2,800 people every Sunday morning. They have a tremendous outreach program to the community and their Glory concerts at Christmas and Easter have been seen by over 200,000 people in the past 7 years. NorthRidge has a staff of nearly 30 people, including a small, dedicated IT department committed to Microsoft Office. One thing they lacked was an Internet presence. With a small group of volunteers, aided by Baarns Consulting as technical consultants, a ministry charter was designed to meet this challenge.
The site has a dual role as a means of communication within the organization and providing information to members and the public. Without skilled support staff, the site had a special need to allow submission of page content by people not versed in web tools.
Important events were to be highlighted on the home page in a tasteful manner, keeping the church's vision and purpose as focal points. It was to be glossy but with decorum.
